Got the results from the UK Songwriting Competition - 4 out of 5 songs got through to the semi-final stage. I shouldn't be disappointed, but I am. Maybe next year...In the meantime, another competition prize thanks to Sure For Men! A runner-up prize of...a Toshiba Laptop! Money is tight, so it's already sold to a friend. Next up - Walker's Crisps!

Wrote a verse and chorus of a song for a competition - under 100 words, about fulfilling dreams. In the meantime, trying to get 10 decent songs together to record at a friend's house. I'm setting a goal of 3 months to do it...

Just finished writing a song about the end of summer. I'm planning to upload it to youtube, but need a new guitar before I can do that - my old one now has curves in all the wrong places, and can't stay in tune, and my other one I picked up for free is a cheap 3/4 size. The plan is to win another competition...Speaking of which, received an email from the UKSC, clarifying the results should be out before the end of August. It's going to seem a long month!

I bought Michelle's first single when it was originally released, and always then wondered whether the rest of her work was as good. Then, a few weeks ago, Spirit Room jumped off out at me from a stack of second-hand CDs. Multiple listenings later, I tracked down The Wreckers Live (the dvd sold it to me, as I work with disabled adults, and often use music dvds as part of the job). Excellent concert, now I am definitely hooked!
I'm currently an aspiring songwriter, and am waiting for results of the UK Songwriting Competition.
